I was born in Tarn Taran in 1981 in State of Punjab in India which is primarily an agrarian society. Its small state with mere 2 percent agricultural land mass of India but it generates 60 percent of the food grains like wheat and rice for India. Basmati rice from Punjab is well known across the world. But what is not well known is the severity of the ecological crisis this Basmati has brought to Punjab.

I travelled to gond tribal areas in Dec 2016 and was able to meet the head musician of the tribe Pradhan. I am sharing a film on our journey. At atelier om we are committed to growing in our understanding in living harmoniously with nature. We spend time acquiring best tribal art paintings and understanding their lives.
In the year 2011-2013 i worked on an important environmental health project in Punjab. For me spirituality is linked to environmental direct action. I engaged with various health NGOs , government to better understand the rising cancer epidemic in Punjab my homeland. The engagement ended with a first state wide cancer survey which clearly showed the rising cancer across the state . The solution of organic farming is being pursued.
